Silicon Metal 2202 has high melting point, good heat resistance, high resistivity and excellent resistance to oxidation. Silicon metal is made with quartz and coke by smelting in the electric furnace. The main chemical composition consists of 99% silicon and impurities such as iron, aluminum, calcium and so on. In the metallurgical foundry industry, Silicon Metal is mainly used as a non-ferrous alloy additive, silicon steel alloy agent to enhance the hardenability of steel. Silicon Metal is also a good component in aluminum alloys, and most foundry alloys contain silicon.
